Senior Lead Process Engineer
Our client was launched in June 2022 by a stellar consortium of shareholders. They aim to build, own, and operate a green iron plant in southern France, using Hydrogen and avoiding the high CO2 emissions from classical steel production. Product will be DRI/HBI a key and value-added ingredient in steel production. They will be a major contributor to decarbonize steel production in Europe and respond to a growing demand for zero carbon steel products.

About the Role
The Senior Lead Process Engineer is responsible for the design, validation, and optimization of processes throughout the life cycle of our client’s industrial projects, from concept to execution.
They ensure the techno-economic optimization of process choices and their consistency with industry standards, project objectives, environmental constraints, and regulatory requirements.
They act as a key reference in their discipline, working closely with internal and external engineering, project, construction, and commissioning teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Process Design Management
- Lead process studies from feasibility phase to execution phase.
- Review PFDs and P&IDs, as well as mass and energy balances.
- Validate technical datasheets, specifications, and equipment requirements.
- Prepare operating manuals, procedures, and training documents.
- Support permit application preparation (DDAE) regarding process aspects – hazard studies, impact assessments, effluent (gaseous and liquid).
- Ensure a specific focus on different process areas.
- Verify compliance of various simulations/pressure profiles and guarantees.
- Review operating conditions according to contract (catalyst lifetime, capacity reduction).
- Ensure compliance with process design rules.
- Review process key figures, challenge and update simulation mapping.
- Supporting the vendor management and selection process.
- FEED verification – overseeing and coordinating deliverables of FEED contractor.
2. Validation of Engineering Deliverables
- Review and approve technical documents from partner engineering firms.
- Ensure alignment with design basis, international standards, and performance targets.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL/LOPA reviews, and 3D model reviews.
- Perform functional analysis of concepts.
- Define project standards within the scope of process engineering.
3. Supervision of Subcontracted Studies
- Draft scopes of work for subcontracted studies.
- Supervise technical studies performed externally.
4. Process Integration in the Overall Project
- Collaborate with engineering, industrial architects, and other departments to ensure optimal process integration.
- Identify risks and opportunities at each stage, propose corrective actions.
5. Documentation, Tools, and Continuous Improvement
- Manage documentation and ensure quality compliance.
- Contribute to improving tools and methods in process engineering.
6. Project-Specific Responsibilities
- Develop a pilot program on pre-heating DRI with hydrogen.
- Contribute to finalizing the layout/general arrangement, especially from a risk perspective.
- Review of Operation conditions as per contract (catalyst lifetime, turn down)
- Review of Process Key Figures
- Review of simulation summary
- Review of Design-Safety
Required skills & knowledge
- Serve as the main technical reference for the Process discipline and primary point of contact for all process-related matters.
- Full responsability for quality, budget, and schedule within the process scope of projects.
- Ensure effective coordination with Customer Lines and other departments involved in process studies.
- Support engineering management to maintain design integrity across all project phases.
- Demonstrate high autonomy in conducting studies and resolving complex technical challenges.
- Strong understanding of process safety principles and compliance with regulatory requirements for industrial plant design.
- Proven hands-on experience in construction, commissioning, and operational troubleshooting of industrial facilities.
- Familiarity with document control processes and the ability to maintain engineering integrity throughout project delivery.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, multidisciplinary project environment.
- In-depth knowledge of gas plant or Direct Reduction Plant design.
Education
- Engineering degree in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience
- Minimum 15 years of experience managing large industrial projects, ideally in heavy and continuous process industries (metallurgy, DRI, cement, thermal treatment, bulk solids).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and French).

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will be in charge of the following tasks and assignments :

We are looking for an "LEAD PROCESS ENGINEER (M/F)" for one of our clients, to be based in Ile-de-France (France) for a 12-month contract (potentially renewable).

Key Responsibilities
The service holder shall demonstrate strong expertise in the process discipline and will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Lead process studies and design activities, ensuring alignment with project specifications during the FEED and EPC phases
- Define the appropriate reference framework for all studies, including identifying the required deliverables in line with the targeted estimation class
- Participate in or lead Value Engineering efforts to optimize and align the technical solution before entering the FEED or EPC phases
- Provide accurate inputs for Long Lead Items (LLI) definitions and their associated Call for Tender (CFT) packages
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality process documentation for inclusion in the EPC CFT
- Promote the use of proven engineering solutions that enhance safety, operability, and maintainability of the installations
- Support the implementation of innovative solutions that lead to CAPEX and/or OPEX optimization
- Participate in technical reviews, including HAZID, HAZOP, workshops, and ad hoc meetings as required
- Ensure timely review and validation of the process documentation prepared by the FEED contractor
- Identify and manage interfaces with other package developments that may impact the process discipline
- Contribute to the tendering process, including preparation of technical exhibits and participation in clarification phases
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and best practices throughout the engineering phases
- Monitor and respond to technical queries and deviation requests within the defined timeframe
- Maintain regular communication and reporting with the CPF Engineering Lead and CPF package company representative on discipline progress, technical concerns, or blocking points
- Prepare process documentation and operating instructions to support operations
- Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes as required by the project
Qualifications And Expertise Required
- Educational Background: Degree in Process Engineering or equivalent
- Professional Experience:
2- At least 10 years of experience on major oil & gas projects, including FEED and EPC phases
- Leadership & Management:
2- Ability to coordinate activities across various stakeholders and maintain high-quality deliverables under tight deadlines

As part of its growth, KHIMOD is hiring an Experienced Process Engineer . The position to be filled will be based at Porte d’Orléans, Paris.
Availability: from June 2025
Your mission : as lead process engineer at KHIMOD, you will be responsible for coordinating the design of new synthetic fuels production units, from basic engineering to commissioning.
Main responsibilities :
– Catalytic reactor design : from specification to completion of the heat exchanger-reactprs used in the units, in liaison with KHIMOD’s internal manufacturing teams
– Unit design: definition of a licensing package for the units, including the architecture process, catalyst, safety and control, in liaison with KHIMOD’s in-house engineering teams
– Technical coordination of subcontracting : coordination of teams of specialists from other technical disciplines involved (piping, instrumentation, electricity, structure, etc.) from external engineering partners and/or EPC companies.
– Supplier management : from drafting specifications to factory acceptance of process equipment and packages used in the units.
– Technical support for project teams : technical support for internal teams monitoring manufacturing, installation, commissioning, start-up and monitoring of installations inoperation.
Profile required:
– Education : Engineering degree in process engineering or PhD in process engineering.
– Professional experience : significant industrial experience (10 years or more) acquired in an engineering company, an EPC or within the technical teams of a project developer. Ideally, you will have experience in a design office, in manufacturing monitoring and in commissioning/start-up or operations.
– Technical skills: Solid skills in simulation and design of processes, equipment calculation, instrumentation, control and safety of installations. Notions of mechanics, electricity, piping and automation would be an asset, as well as knowledge of the regulatory environment for processes using hydrogen.
– Languages : Fluent in English and French.
– Personal qualities : Rigorous, with good interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work independently in a team. Votre mission : en tant que lead process chez KHIMOD, vous serez responsable de la coordination
de la conception de nouvelles unités de production de carburants synthétique, de l’ingénierie de
base jusqu’à la mise en service.
Principales responsabilités :
– Conception des réacteurs catalytiques : de la spécification jusqu’au suivi de réalisation des
réacteurs-échangeurs de chaleur de chaleurs utilisés dans les unités, en lien avec les équipes
interne de fabrication de KHIMOD.
– Conception de l’unité : définition d’un package de licence des unités, incluant l’architecture
procédé, le catalyseur, la sécurité et le contrôle-commande, en lien avec équipes internes
d’ingénierie de KHIMOD.
– Coordination technique de la sous-traitance : coordination d’équipes de spécialistes des
autres disciplines techniques impliquées (piping, instrumentation, électricité, structure …)
provenant de partenaires externes d’ingénierie et/ou de sociétés EPC.
– Gestion de fournisseurs : de la rédaction du cahier des charges jusqu’à la recette usine
d’équipements process et packages utilisés dans les unités.
– Support technique aux équipes projet : support technique aux équipes internes de suivi de
fabrication, installation, commissioning, démarrage et suivi des installations en
fonctionnement.
Profil Recherché :
– Formation : Diplôme d’Ingénieur généraliste ou spécialisé en génie des procédés ou doctorat
en génie des procédés.
– Expérience professionnelle : expérience industrielle significative (10 ans ou plus) acquise
dans une société d’ingénierie, un EPC ou au sein des équipes techniques d’un développeur
de projet. Vous avez idéalement une expérience en bureau d’étude, en suivi de fabrication et
en commissioning/démarrage ou en exploitation.
– Compétences techniques : Solides compétences en matière de simulation et conception de
procédés, calcul d’équipements, instrumentation, contrôle-commande et sécurité des
installations. Des notions de mécanique, électricité, piping et automatisme seraient un atout,
ainsi qu’une connaissance de l’environnement règlementaire des procédés utilisant
l’hydrogène.
– Langues : Maîtrise de l’anglais et du français.
– Qualités personnelles : Rigoureux/se, vous avez un bon relationnel et avez démontré une

OverviewThe Senior Lead Process Engineer is responsible for the design, validation, and optimization of processes throughout the life cycle of GravitHy’s industrial projects, from concept to execution. They ensure the techno-economic optimization of process choices and their consistency with industry standards, project objectives, environmental constraints, and regulatory requirements. They act as a key reference in their discipline, working closely with internal and external engineering, project, construction, and commissioning teams.
Key Responsibilities1. Process Design Management
- Lead process studies from feasibility phase to execution phase.
- Review PFDs and P&IDs, as well as mass and energy balances.
- Validate technical datasheets, specifications, and equipment requirements.
- Prepare operating manuals, procedures, and training documents.
- Support permit application preparation (DDAE) regarding process aspects – hazard studies, impact assessments, effluent (gaseous and liquid).
- Ensure a specific focus on different process areas.
- Verify compliance of various simulations/pressure profiles and guarantees.
- Review operating conditions according to contract (catalyst lifetime, capacity reduction).
- Ensure compliance with process design rules.
- Review process key figures, challenge and update simulation mapping.
- Support the vendor management and selection process.
- FEED verification – overseeing and coordinating deliverables of FEED contractor.
2. Validation of Engineering Deliverables
- Review and approve technical documents from partner engineering firms.
- Ensure alignment with design basis, international standards, and performance targets.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL/LOPA reviews, and 3D model reviews.
- Perform functional analysis of concepts.
- Define project standards within the scope of process engineering.
3. Supervision of Subcontracted Studies
- Draft scopes of work for subcontracted studies.
- Supervise technical studies performed externally.
4. Process Integration in the Overall Project
- Collaborate with engineering, industrial architects, and other departments to ensure optimal process integration.
- Identify risks and opportunities at each stage, propose corrective actions.
5. Documentation, Tools, and Continuous Improvement
- Manage documentation and ensure quality compliance.
- Contribute to improving tools and methods in process engineering.
6. Project-Specific Responsibilities
- Develop a pilot program on pre-heating DRI with hydrogen.
- Contribute to finalizing the layout/general arrangement, especially from a risk perspective.
- Review operation conditions as per contract (catalyst lifetime, turn down).
- Review of Process Key Figures.
- Review of simulation summary.

Education :

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Process Integration Engineer to lead the transfer of our proprietary interposer fabrication process from its current academic prototype stage to high-volume manufacturing . This is a critical role that will directly impact the success of our company, and the ideal candidate will be capable of taking full ownership of this initiative. You will be a key member of the team, working closely with the design and product teams to define and execute the manufacturing strategy . This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of our manufacturing operations and contribute directly to the commercialization of our groundbreaking technology.
Responsibilities
· Lead the transfer of our interposer fabrication process from prototype and lab environment to volume production
· Collaborate with semiconductor foundries to establish a robust and scalable manufacturing process
· Drive continuous improvement by implementing Statistical Process Control (SPC), Wafer Acceptance Testing (WAT) and Design of Experiments (DOE) to monitor and optimize process parameters, enhancing yield and product quality
· Work closely with design and product teams to implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) best practices and optimize product manufacturability
· Own the generation and release of GDS files (including PDK integration) for mask fabrication
· Identify and mitigate process risks, proactively addressing potential issues
· Analyze process data using statistical tools to identify trends and drive process improvements
· Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including specifications, work instructions, and control plans
· Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in semiconductor manufacturing and advanced packaging technologies
· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
· Participate in the development of the manufacturing strategy and roadmap
· Assist in the development of test methodologies and characterization plans for our interposer devices
Requirements
· Ph.D. in electrical engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a related field; advanced.
· Extensive experience in semiconductor process engineering (3-5+ years), with a demonstrated track record of process transfer and scale-up
· Deep understanding of semiconductor fabrication Front-End and Back-End processes, including heterogeneous integration, Si and III-V dry/wet etching, e-beam and optical lithography, dielectric and metal deposition, CMP
· Experience working directly with semiconductor foundries to develop and transfer processes
· Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and related data analysis
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
· Experience with silicon photonics or related optical technologies
