Role Summary:
Systems Engineer plays a critical role in the design, integration, and lifecycle management of aircraft systems within an aviation design and production environment.
Dimension of Function:
This role is focused on the design, development, and integration of advanced aircraft seating systems. Responsible for managing the technical performance of seat systems, including electrical components, actuators, in-seat power, and inflight entertainment (IFE) integration. To ensure these systems are fully compliant with regulatory standards and seamlessly integrated into the aircraft environment.
Contacts:
This position involves leading system-level design efforts, coordinating interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring that systems meet regulatory, customer, and operational requirements from concept through to production and certification.

Area of Responsibility:
- Manage the requirements on engineering projects, ensuring they are fully documented and traceable in line with the Requirements Management Plan.
- Capture and validate all stakeholder requirements—both internal and external.
- Review requirements with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Test Engineers.
- Work closely with the entire engineering project team to ensure that validation and verification activities are completed on time to support the Master Engineering Reviews.
- Develop the product verification strategy and ensure agreement with all stakeholders.
- Provide regular status reports for requirements capture, compliance status, and validation and verification progress.
- Create and maintain product specification documents for internal and customer approval.
- Verification & Validation:
- Lead technical reviews, design validation, and safety/risk analyses (FMEA, FTA) for seating systems and their components.
- Coordinate verification and validation activities, ensuring that all testing is completed and complies with the regulatory requirements (e.g., DO-160 testing).
- Support the development of test plans, reports, and the resolution of any discrepancies.
- Project and Change Management:
- Support the Engineering Change Process (ECP), ensuring any changes during the New Product Introduction (NPI) are appropriately managed and aligned with project timelines and cost constraints.
- Assist in Engineering proposals in response to Master Change Proposals (MCPs) received during NPI projects.
- Ensure all system changes are documented, tracked, and validated according to the established change management processes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with OEMs (e.g., Boeing, Airbus) and airline customers to define interfaces and ensure seamless integration of seat systems into the cabin.
- Maintain close working relationships with suppliers to ensure compliance with the product's requirements and quality standards.
Knowledge / Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–7 years of experience in commercial aircraft seating systems, cabin interiors, or related aerospace systems engineering roles.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems integration, electromechanical components, and system-level engineering processes.
- Experience with DO-160, ARP4754A, and relevant FAA/EASA certification requirements.
- Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion) and CAD tools for interface definition.
- Solid experience in managing requirements and product configuration for engineering projects.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate across technical disciplines
- Experience working with aircraft seat OEMs (e.g., Safran Seats, RECARO, Collins Aerospace Seating, Adient Aerospace).
- Familiarity with in-seat systems such as motorized recline, lumbar support, tray mechanisms, and integrated IFE/power units.
- Experience supporting TSO C127/C127a and STC approval processes for seat installations.

Job Summary
As a Telecommunications Payload Engineer you will play a central role in developing our next-generation regenerative payloads, from early design through to in-orbit operations. You will contribute across the entire lifecycle of our projects, supporting both our in-orbit demonstration missions and the deployment of our full satellite constellation.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will define, design, and develop payloads and their subsystems including RF, processors, antennas, power, and control. You will also ensure seamless integration between payloads and platforms, guaranteeing that mission-level requirements are consistently achieved.
Duties
- Define and develop payload requirements, collaborating with the platform and mission teams to ensure end-to-end mission compatibility.
- Own subsystem-level technical requirements and oversee their implementation.
- Conduct technical analyses, simulations, trade studies, and prepare reports to support payload development and mission engineering activities.
- Review and assess technical documentation from internal teams and external suppliers, and participate in project reviews.
- Lead payload prototyping activities, including test definition, supply chain engagement, lab integration, and test execution.
- Support Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) and industrialisation activities following completion of satellite design.
- Contribute to Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) and operations activities post-launch.
Experience
Candidates should have a solid foundation in systems engineering principles with experience in the following areas:
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline, with at least 5 years' experience in space systems engineering.
- Proven experience in telecommunications payload engineering, including on-board digital signal processors, channelisation, beamforming, and performance assessment (EIRP, G/T, C/I, capacity).
- Familiarity with telecom network architecture across physical, access, and network layers, including link budgeting (advantageous).
- Experience with broadband/backhaul NGSO constellations, electronically steerable antennas, and beam-hopping systems development (advantageous).
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Pragmatic mindset with strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.

Systems Engineer IV
Duration:

Pay Rate:
$100/ hour
Location:
Remote; working CST
- 25% travel for trainings and major M&A projects. Travel, food, and car rentals/Ubers are reimbursed by the company. 50% travel for the first 4 months to get ramped up, then 25% travel.

Project / Day-to-Day:
The Systems Engineer / Desktop Engineer on the M&A team will collaborate with various teams to support software and hardware initiatives. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing stakeholder information to identify gaps, developing a roadmap for software migrations, and assisting with virtual desktop adoption to ensure a smooth end-user experience. The engineer will also evaluate existing hardware and software to plan future upgrades, migrations, or replacements. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience with software migration, familiarity with virtual desktop environments, and knowledge of hardware lifecycle management.
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of systems engineering experience
- Microsoft Azure, including compute, networking, storage, security, governance, and monitoring
- Active Directory / Azure AD identity management
- Terraform within Azure
- Networking fundamentals: examples: DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, ExpressRoute
Nice to Have:
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect, or VMware Certified Professional
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and project management methodologies
- Microsoft certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Azure Administrator Associate
- Experience with enterprise integration and migration projects (mergers & acquisitions, datacenter-to-cloud migrations, tenant consolidations)
