BDA is seeking an experienced
Payroll Specialist
with a strong background in both
domestic and international payroll processing
. The ideal candidate will have
at least 6 years of hands-on payroll experience
, a deep understanding of
ADP systems
(with prior ADP employment preferred), and strong
Excel skills
to support detailed reporting and reconciliations.
Location Requirement:
This role follows a hybrid schedule and requires you to work
onsite 4 days per week (with 1 day remote)
at one of the following BDA office locations:
- United Kingdom: Manchester, London, or Luton
- France: Paris
- United States: Boston, MA
- Atlanta, GA
- Troy, MI
- Indianapolis, IN
To be considered, you must live within commuting distance of one of these locations, as regular in-person collaboration is a key part of the role.
Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle payroll processing for U.S. and international employees
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Handle garnishments, deductions, and benefit withholdings accurately
- Understanding Time and Attendance, International and Domestic Benefit accruals
- Utilize ADP systems for payroll input, reporting, and audits (e.g., Workforce Now, Celergo , Global View, Smart compliance)
- Develop and maintain payroll reports using Excel, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and formulas
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate payroll delivery
- Support internal and external audits, YE Audits and or amendments with payroll data and documentation
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years of payroll experience, including multi-state and international processing
- ADP Celergo experience required
- Strong ADP systems knowledge (former ADP employees highly preferred)
- Fluent in both English and French required
- Fluent in German a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas)
- Solid understanding of payroll tax regulations (Federal, State, Local) Pension, filings, and garnishment processing
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills, excellent reconciliation skillset
- Ability to manage confidential data with discretion
- Payroll certification is a plus or years of service
We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position is £
60,000 - £70,000
.
If you are hired at BDA, your compensation will be determined based on factors that may include geographic location, skills, education, and experience. In the spirit of pay transparency, the range listed is the full base salary range for the role and hiring at the top of the range would not be typical, in order to allow for future salary growth.

About the role
We are seeking a Payroll Specialist for a 10-month fixed-term contract to cover parental leave, ideally starting in December 2025. You will work closely with a Senior Payroll Specialist and report to the Payroll Manager. In this role, you will support our payroll operations in France, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and an employee-centric approach.
In your day to day you will:- Process monthly payroll for employees in ADP Decidium from end to end, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Enter and verify payroll data, maintaining and updating employee records.
- Calculate and process salaries, social charges, and taxes according to French regulations and the SYNTEC agreement.
- Prepare and submit mandatory declarations (DSN, URSSAF, etc.).
- Coordinate with external agencies such as URSSAF, Social Security, and Prévoyance.
- Generate and distribute payslips to the employees' e-vault
- Contribute to regular payroll cycle activities (certifications, reporting, audits).
- Respond to queries from employees, third parties, and other stakeholders with professionalism and empathy.
Technical Competencies
- 3+ years of experience within a similar or equivalent position, handling in-house payroll for France on ADP Decidium
- Solid knowledge of French payroll regulations, particularly under the SYNTEC agreement
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, formula creation, complex calculations)
- Comfortable working with IT tools and numerical calculations.
- Ability to communicate effectively in French; working proficiency in English (Intermediate+).
