• Master's degree in engineering, science or another technical or related field

Your Impact

You’ll work in teams of 3–5 consultants, actively participating in all aspects of client engagement.

This includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating hypotheses, developing recommendations, and communicating findings. You’ll also present results to client management and collaborate on implementing solutions.

You'll develop new skills and strengthen your existing ones. Business Analysts Interns (BA) receive exceptional training, coaching, and mentoring. Additionally, your local office will assist in selecting projects to help you develop skills and expand your network.

This internship offers first-hand consulting experience at McKinsey. At the end, you may be invited to join as a full-time Business Analyst after graduation.

You will join as a Business Analyst Intern in our Paris office for 6 months, working with McKinsey Digital on projects ranging from IT modernization to digital transformation across industries and functions.

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
• 0-2+ years of experience building data pipelines in a professional setting (for example, internship) would be considered a plus
• Ability to write clean and maintainable code in an object-oriented language, e.g., Python, Scala, Java
• Familiarity with analytics libraries (e.g. pandas, numpy, matplotlib), distributed computing frameworks (e.g. Spark, Dask), and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Navigate across operational processes and tools to efficiently execute repetitive tasks contributing to consistent and predictable deliverables, matching the company-level SLOs and quality standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related fields
• 2+ years of work experience in a related area
• Strong interest in operational work, with the ability to execute repetitive tasks to meet SLOs and uphold quality standards
• Experience using data and metrics to determine improvement areas
• Ability to define and implement process improvement initiatives
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Knowledge of Excel for data manipulation, conclusion formulation, and graphic visual representation
• Strong team collaboration experience
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously with excellent detail orientation and an ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in engineering, business, or related fields
• Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other relevant process improvement methodologies
• Experience driving end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
• Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

What You’ll Do

As a senior member of our Organizational Strategy practice, you’ll help clients unlock performance through people-centric transformation:

• Design future-ready operating models that align strategy, structure, and culture.
• Build agile organizations by optimizing size, skills, shape, site, and spend — the “five rights” of organizational capability
• Translate strategic ambition into human-centered execution, aligning leadership, roles, capabilities, and ways of working.
• Shape and embed cultural change, evolving values, behaviors, and employee experience.
• Advise C-suite leaders on how to unlock value through their people — becoming a trusted transformation partner.
• Lead and mentor diverse project teams, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
• Drive business development, co-creating solutions that address clients’ most pressing human capital challenges.

What You Bring

• 7–10+ years’ experience in top-tier consulting or strategic HR/organizational roles within complex, global organizations.
• Proven expertise in organizational design, job architecture, operating model transformation, and cultural change.
• A people-first mindset and a track record of delivering solutions that elevate both performance and employee experience.
• Strong client leadership and influencing skills, especially at the executive level.
• Experience leading transformation programs across industries such as Financial Services, Life Sciences, Technology, Industrial, or Public Sector.
• Exceptional analytical, facilitation, and project management skills.
• Commercial acumen and the ability to build lasting client relationships.
• An advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Organizational Psychology, Human Capital Strategy) is preferred.
