We have a great opportunity for a Senior Project Manager - Store Planning to join our Head Office in Paris and to be responsible for the project management of Retail and Wholesale store projects across Europe/UK. The role involves working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of all projects.

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Development:
    • Proactively maintain the new store, wholesale project, maintenance, and store refurbishment schedule.
    • Prepare new store briefing pack for store designers and architects, including budget and tenant requirements.
    • Manage internal critical path incorporating the building program and associated consultants.
    • Identify external providers, manage contract negotiation and implementation of services.
    • Manage budget and financial aspects of projects with appropriate internal stakeholders.
  2. Execution and Building:
    • Manage approved schedules to achieve all critical milestones.
    • Coordinate initial retail and landlord design approval and manage sign-offs.
    • Manage all internal and external stakeholders to achieve committed milestones.
    • Establish competitive bidding, contract administration and project-related legal and financial controls.
    • Maintain excellent relationships with contractors, consultants, designers, and internal teams.
  3. Handover Process:
    • Ensure high-quality build and handover of store to retail 100% defect-free.
    • Coordinate all necessary inspection and certification for future use.
    • Support retail operations to organize any required maintenance.
  4. Maintenance:
    • Methodically manage maintenance schedule in conjunction with Retail operation and Visual Merchandising teams.
    • Support retail operations to research and vet vendors for repair projects.
    • Maintain inventory manifests for Zimmermann bought designer furniture and artwork.

For 20 years, the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (UNESCO-IOC) has been leading the promotion of marine spatial planning (MSP). Within the context of the ‘Joint Roadmap to accelerate Marine/Maritime Spatial Planning processes worldwide’ (MSProadmap), updated in 2022, IOC has implemented the MSPglobal programme, which is composed by a core MSPglobal project co-funded by the European Commission.

The third phase of MSPglobal (MSPglobal 3.0) is a 2-year project and will start in mid-2025. At the global level, the expected result is a well-informed community of MSP practitioners and stakeholders supporting MSP processes worldwide. For that, new guidelines/tools and trainings will be co-developed. Besides, MSPglobal 3.0 will deliver an international MSP event and produce communications’ materials to increase awareness about MSP. At national and regional level, the project will deliver activities in Africa, Latin America and Caribbean, as well as Asia and Pacific, providing support towards institutionally strengthened MSP processes and improved regional ocean governance.

The Associate Project Officer will work under the overall authority of the Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO, the overall supervision of the Head of the Marine Policy and Regional Coordination Section, and the immediate supervision of MSPglobal Coordinator. The Associate Project Officer will technically support the MSPglobal Coordinator in the implementation of MSP activities, such as guide the co-development of new guidelines/tools and trainings as well as co-lead the organisation of events.

Long Description

The incumbent will perform the following functions:

1. Support the MSPglobal Coordinator in the day-to-day implementation of the MSPglobal Programme based on Projects' Documents;

2. Support the organisation of meetings and ensure effective communication and exchange of information with donors, beneficiary countries and collaborators (internal and external to UNESCO);

3. Ensure that the projects' outputs are delivered as identified in the Projects' Documents by:

  • Supporting the MSPglobal Coordinator to plan, coordinate and monitor the projects' workplans with the MSPglobal Team and contracted services
  • Guiding, reviewing and providing technical inputs to the development of MSP guidelines/tools and training materials as well as communication and outreach products
  • Co-organising and delivering national, regional and global MSP events

4. Contribute to the systematic documentation, monitoring and reporting of projects' activities to the donors as well as other reports (as requested) on IOC work on MSP;

5. Engage with MSP practitioners and authorities from around the world;

6. Support the development of project proposals associated to MSPglobal;

7. Support other UNESCO-IOC activities related to the MSP, such as those in the context of the draft IOC-wide Strategy on Sustainable Ocean Planning and Management, and Ocean Decade Programme on Sustainable Ocean Planning.

  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize issues, compile and analyse data as well as synthesise information in coherent and succinct formats.

Representative Responsibilities:
• Provide systems quotation and project support to dealers and machine builders
• Coordinate and manage projects from first quote through final commissioning
• Give product demonstrations as required
• Design projects based on purchase order and quotation documents
• Reviews quotations, sales order and purchase orders and addresses any discrepancies in a timely fashion
• Addresses requests for information from dealers, customers and end users in a timely and professional manner
• Confirms system requirements
• Ensures submittal drawings are consistent, accurate and on time
• Manage project progress to ensure the scheduled ship date is met
• Support system installation
• Provide customer service support for pricing automation and ecommerce as required.
• Assist in sales campaigns, Ecommerce, Sales calls, e-mail, promotions etc.
• Organize and participate in PENKO sales training seminars and events
• Coordinate purchase of 3rd party buyouts necessary for system integration
• Maintain strong communication between PENKO departments and customers
• Other tasks as assigned
• Special projects and requests are completed in a timely and positive fashion.

Minimum Requirements:
• 4-6 years previous related experience in industrial processing controls or related business
• Sales, integration or service experience beneficial
• Bachelor, HBO or 8 yrs experience in weighing, control automation or related business
• Engineering or technical science knowledge preferred
• Must be extremely flexible in adapting to customer’s needs
• Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
• Computer skills: MS Office 365, SAP, CRM
• Ability to read drafted electrical and mechanical drawing documents
• Effective organizational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to work well under pressure
• Fluent in Dutch and English. German is desirable
• Ability to read technical datasheets
• Knowledge or interest to learn how to translate technical specification into project quotation
• Interest and ability to learn system design including mechanical, electrical, controls, and business system integration

Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead a portfolio of projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget
  • Collaborate with project teams to define clear project objectives and deliverables
  • Monitor project progress, identify and manage issues and risks, and implement corrective actions
  • Assist in resource allocation and budget monitoring
  • Prepare project status reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development and application of project management best practices
  • Drive teamwork and collaboration among project team members
  • Ensure that projects align with departmental and company strategies
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Typically, 7+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role
  • Proven experience in project and program management
  • Proficiencies in project management methodologies, tools, and software
  • A continuous learner that stays abreast with industry knowledge and technology
Other Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 are a plus
