**Role Description:**
Independent Model Risk Management seeks a Senior Quantitative Finance Analyst to support model validation and model risk management activities associated with models used in Global Markets for measuring, reporting and managing of counterparty risk. The role will also support the Legal Entity oversight of counterparty models in the French entity, including interactions with local supervision team. In addition, the role may contribute to model validation and model risk management activities in other US and EMEA legal entities as needed.
The role involves hands-on expertise to conduct independent review and testing of complex models, it also requires the ability to develop tactical tools to organize ad-hoc analysis and identify emerging model risk themes. It will require collaboration with model development teams, front line units, and support functions hence good communication skills are required. The Senior Quantitative Finance Analyst will produce technical reports for distribution and presentation to stakeholders including senior management, audit, and banking regulators.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Validate counterparty system models and their components developed by Quantitative Strategy and Data Group and Global Risk Analytics across all asset classes.
+ Review the underlying assumptions, theory, derivation, empirical evidence, implementation and limitations of the model being validated
+ Perform independently testing to identify/quantify model risk associated with the model being validated
+ Prepare validation report and technical documents for the model being validated
+ Work closely with model stakeholders and senior management with regard to communication of submission and validation outcomes
+ Identify continuous improvements through reviews of approval decisions on relevant model development or model validation tasks, critical feedback on technical documentation, and effective challenges on model development/validation
+ Maintain and provides oversight of model development and model risk management in respective focus areas to support business requirements and the enterprise's risk appetite
+ Lead and provides methodological, analytical, and technical guidance to effectively challenge and influence the strategic direction and tactical approaches of development/validation projects and identify areas of potential risk
+ Participate in MRM engagements with regulatory bodies
**What we are looking for:**
+ A PhD degree in quantitative finance or quantitative sciences, e.g. physics, mathematics, statistics and related fields
+ In depth understanding of financial mathematics including stochastic calculus and probability theory, as well as derivative pricing and counterparty risk models
+ Familiarity with Basel III framework and its implementation in CRR in EU and UK
+ Extensive experience in quantitative modeling and/or validation in CVA/CCR area
+ Coding ability in Python, R, C++ is a plus
+ Familiarity with LaTeX as documentation preparation system
+ Critical thinking, intellectual curiosity and collaboration

Ce nouveau poste très polyvalent, coordonne l'alternance avec différentes équipes de l'entreprise et multisites. Key job responsibilities
Recrutement :
- Soutenir les activités de recrutement de l'alternance en France et le suivi des candidatures
Administratif :

- Aider à la conformité des déclarations auprès de notre OPCO
- Établir des partenariats avec divers départements internes et externes (CFA.)
Accompagnement et suivi :
- Coordonner les plannings d'alternance
- Elaborer et coordonner des plans de formation pour les alternants au niveau France en utilisant les ressources disponibles
- Suivre les progrès des alternants tout au long de leur parcours, incluant la formation théorique en CFA pratique, et être force de proposition en cas de difficulté
- Suivre les indicateurs du programme et être force de proposition sur l'amélioration en élaborant un plan d'action
- Gérer les dépenses liées à la formation et réaliser un suivi budgétaire
- Coordonner les formations des tuteurs
- Collaborer avec les autres membres de l'équipe au niveau Européen
Communication et évènementiel :
- Agir en tant que premier interlocuteur pour les alternants, les tuteurs, les managers de terrain par e-mail et en visio-conférences régulières

- Élaborer et tenir à jour des livrets

+ Follow-up of **centralized operating Foreign Exchange (FX) exposures** (budget & actuals) of ≈100 affiliates in 25 countries & 40 currencies, representing around 12 bn. P&L exposure per year (and creating a high sensitivity of Group operating income to FX fluctuations)
+ Review of **centralized financing & investing FX exposures** driven by investments, divestments & internal restructurings: capital increases/decreases, dividends, transfers of shares or intangible assets, loans & borrowings
+ The MO is in charge of **controlling these exposures and transmitting them to FO for external hedging** , as well as **granting internal hedges** to the exposed affiliates, in line with Group policy & procedures. The MO checks that as a result FX positions are balanced
+ Maintenance & control of the **FX rates database** (budget, trend, booking rates)
+ **Fair valuation** of derivative instruments for accounting purpose
+ **Analytical review** of actual consolidated FX gains & losses as well as net financial result
Financial Instruments Accounting:
+ **Sanofi holding financial instruments** (cash investments, financial debt, derivatives) **accounting** (IFRS, French Gaap & French tax rules). This activity covers day-to-day accounting (in the SAP-TRM Treasury Management System auxiliary ledger and through Manual Journal Entries) and month-end closings for a high volumetry of instruments (to illustrate: currently 10 to 15 bn. outstanding cash investments, 20 bn. outstanding financial debt, 100 to 150 bn. external FX derivatives dealt per year) representing a critical stake in terms of accuracy & completeness of Group financial reporting
+ Documentation of **hedging relationships**
+ Drafting of **notes to consolidated financial statements** and to Sanofi holding statutory accounts related to financial instruments

**_About you_**
**Experience:**
+ Significant experience of fieldwork in **Treasury or in Corporate accounting (Consolidation or Technical accounting)** in a large listed Corporate and/or a Big4 (or Big4 like) audit firm
**Soft skills:**
+ **Rigor & reliability** (the MO&FIA team's performance has a critical impact on Group P&L and cash-flows, viewing the damage that un-hedged FX exposures may rapidly provoke, and on financial statements accuracy & completeness)
+ Strong **analytical and synthesis capabilities** , oral and written
+ **Commitment** : Centralized FX exposures go from Mexico to Australia and often require early and after-hours interventions. Group accounting deadlines require, in particular for quarterly closures, a demanding volume of activity in a limited period of time
+ **Team working** spirit
+ **Pragmatism** and **organization skills** in order to meet tight deadlines (anticipation & pro-activity)
+ Strong **interpersonal skills** due to the permanent interactions with multiple stakeholders with the treasury & accounting communities
**Technical skills:**
+ **FX** : significant past-experience on & appetite for foreign exchange issues in a large multinational listed corporate
+ **Hedging** : economics, valuation, risk management & settlement of basic operating & investing FX hedging instruments ( **FX spots, forwards & swaps** )
+ **Accounting** : IFRS skills on financial instruments (classification, recognition, derecognition, measurement & disclosures of cash investments, financial debt and derivative instruments, including hedge accounting principles) are a + **Systems** : SAP-FI, SAP-TRM or other Treasury Management Systems, agility in excel modelling
**Education:**
+ Master in finance, specialization in technical accounting, treasury or financial markets is a **Languages:**
+ Fluency in **French** and **English** mandatory
