About the Position - Responsibilities & Duties

We are seeking candidates for the position of Plant Operator at the site of the McKean landfill in Mount Jewett, PA.

Although this position is assigned to Waga Energy’s WAGABOX® located at the site of the McKean landfill in Mount Jewett, PA, candidates must also be available for travel to additional WAGABOX® sites located at the Chemung County landfill in Elmira, New York, the Hyland landfill in Angelica, New York, and the Steuben County landfill in Bath, New York on an as needed basis. Candidates will also be required to spend 3-4 days at Waga Energy’s corporate office in Bala Cynwyd, PA (Philadelphia area) for new hire orientation followed by approximately 2-4 weeks of training at one of the WAGABOX® sites listed above.

The Plant Operator serves as a member of the operations and maintenance team and is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of a landfill biogas to RNG unit (i.e., a WAGABOX®).

Associated responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the operations of the WAGABOX® by conducting daily maintenance rounds and completing a daily checklist of monitoring items including measuring gas concentrations and water/oil levels, checking cooler filters, etc.
  • Communicating the results of daily monitoring activities to the operations team via daily or weekly reports.
  • Diagnosing unit performance issues and performing corrective electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic maintenance tasks as well as other related corrective maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Performing preventive maintenance activities based on established schedules provided by the operations team (ex. oil, carbon, and sensor changes, etc.).
  • Participating in the annual maintenance process during the annual unit shut down.
  • Serving as the on-site contact person for all site visitors (i.e., vendors, suppliers, etc.) and supporting visitors’ work activities as needed.
  • Maintaining a continuous focus on safety and serving as a “champion” of a safety focused work environment by ensuring the implementation of an established site safety plan including the following associated responsibilities:
    • Presenting the site safety plan to all site visitors (i.e., vendors, suppliers, etc.) and ensuring they sign and follow all aspects of the plan.
    • Ensuring the maintenance and proper use of all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Immediately reporting to the operations team any breach of the site safety plan.
  • Assisting with the procurement of equipment, supplies, tools, etc. including coordinating with outside manufacturers, suppliers, vendors, etc.
  • Effectively utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track work activities.
  • Participating in unit pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Assisting the operations team with ensuring safe, compliant operations and maximum production/up time.



About You - Qualifications & Skills 

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, enjoys independent hands-on operations & maintenance related work, and has:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial operations, plant operations, mechanical/electrical maintenance, or a related field.
  • Related technical or vocational education/training. Additional years of experience will be considered in place of formal education/training.
  • Experience within the oil, gas, and/or chemical industry and/or experience working in landfill gas, biogas, natural gas processing, or similar industries.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Familiarity with industrial safety procedures and regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and confined space entry.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this role. As Waga’s “eyes and ears” on the project site, the Operator is responsible for keeping off-site team members informed of all unit-related activities.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with the role, including lifting, carrying, and working in varied environmental conditions.

Job Summary

As a Senior Process Engineer , you will lead the design, development, and optimization of our systems - reactor engineering, associated thermal and chemical processes. You will be a key technical authority in the scale-up from lab to industrial scale, ensuring high-performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness of the systems. You will supervise junior engineers, coordinate cross-functional activities with internal and external stakeholders, and act as a technical advisor to the CTO and leadership team.

Candidate Profile

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial process design, scale-up, and operation, ideally in energy, thermal engineering, chemical or CO₂ utilization sectors.
  • Proven expertise in process modelling and simulation, particularly with ASPEN or equivalent tools.
  • Strong knowledge of heat and mass transfer, reactor design, and thermodynamic optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing pilot plant design, construction, and operation.
  • Ability to lead technical projects independently and work cross-functionally with R&D, operations, and external partners.
  • Experience in carbon capture, power-to-X, or fuel synthesis technologies.

YOUR DAILY JOB

    • Reviewing Client's technical documentation and requirements;
    • Providing detailed calculation to validate the preliminary design of the bid stage;
    • Ensuring compliance with the required process performances;
    • Optimizing the unit design and scheme considering budget and project constrains;
    • Preparing detailed technical documentation including process description, heat & material balance, process calculation, control narrative, cause & effect diagram, logic diagrams, alarms and interlocks list, sequence chart, operating and maintenance manuals;
    • Providing process support to other disciplines to define p&ids, material selection, equipment list, equipment datasheet, instrument datasheet;
    • Supporting the procurement for technical selection of quotations from sub-suppliers;
    • Participating to technical meetings with Client, including HAZOP, SIL, FAT of control system and of the skids;
    • Providing professional training of Client operators;
    • Providing support to the site engineers.

YOUR PROFILE

    • University Master Degree in Chemical, Environmental or Energy Engineer
    • Fluent English and Italian;
    • Excellent IT and analytical skills;
    • Attention to details, excellent communications skills;
    • Strong interpersonal, team-oriented skills, self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.

URBN Inventory Control/Quality Audit (Day Shift)

This position is located at 766 Brackbill Rd, Gap, Pennsylvania, 17527 United States.

Role Summary

Shift: Monday - Thursday; 6:00am - 4:30pm. As an Inventory Control/Quality Auditor Clerk, your role is crucial in maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment. Your daily tasks include conducting cycle counts, meeting units per hour targets, aligning products, processing damages, and providing assistance in various departments as needed.

Role Responsibilities
  • Maintain a Safe, Organized, Clean, and Secure environment
  • Cycle counting garments on a daily basis
  • Responsible for reaching UPH (units per hour) set by the Supervisor
  • Triggered cycle counting
  • Product alignment within the DC, labeling products as needed
  • General inventory research
  • Processing damages
  • Practice efficient production procedures and methods
  • Assist in all other departments as needed
  • All other duties assigned by the Supervisor
Role Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school degree or GED required
  • Comprehend and follow work instructions to meet productivity and quality standards
  • Knowledge of RF scanner
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Dependable, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and efficiency skills
  • Work well under pressure and time constraints
  • Maintain acceptable attendance and must be able to work overtime as required
Physical Requirements
  • Able to stand and walk for considerable distance throughout a shift
  • Climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods
  • Reach, pull, push, and lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights up to 50 pounds
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely as required for the position (i.e. pallet jack, box cutter, carts) which requires coordinated movements
