Our FBL cluster is growing! We are seeking a passionate and ambitious Senior Data Scientist to partner with Visa Consulting & Analytics and co-develop data-driven solutions to help Visas clients grow their businesses. The role sits in the IDS European client-facing team and is based in Paris. You will be expected to :
Develop a deep understanding of Visas data assets and how they can be used to enhance client profitability across acquisition usage and retention
Identify trends in our clients work to drive business development with consultants
Understand business requirements and desired outcomes leading to a detailed analytical plan
Execute on the analytical plan to develop promote and deliver data-driven solutions and / or business-centric insights from data through better visualisation and storyboarding
Provide subject matter expertise and quality assurance of complex Data Science projects
Specific Responsibilities include :
Develop and deploy analytical models and techniques within the organization and VCA clients.
Work with large volumes of data extract and manipulate large datasets using standard tools.
Analyze clean and visualize large data sets.
Produce data sets for predictive modeling by parsing and aggregating incomplete unstructured data sources.
Develop and validate advanced analytics models and algorithms.
Utilize Visas data and analytic capabilities to develop and implement consulting solutions.
Continuously present innovative ideas to improve business practices.
Perform client-specific analysis on portfolio data including proprietary information.
Lead transfer of technical knowledge to facilitate business solution implementation.
Document all projects including coding and other necessary documentation.
Enhance and optimize codes for critical business processes.
Design and develop dashboards using software such as Tableau or Power BI.
Identify opportunities to automate repeatable analysis or build streamlined solutions.
Communicate complex concepts and analysis results clearly and effectively.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications :
What we want from you -
Integrate data from various sources for risk assessments.
Experience with tools like Hadoop Spark Python SAS and SQL.
Advanced skills in analytics and statistical modeling (e.g. Regression Clustering Classification).
Experience in developing Machine Learning models (e.g. Random Forest SVM) using Python or R.
Proficient in data visualization software such as Tableau and Power BI.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Knowledge of Agile methodology and scrum practices.
Demonstrate ownership in delivering projects ensuring they are completed on time and meet the desired outcomes.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Data Science Manager - your future role?
As a Data Science Manager in Argenteuil or Paris (France), you will facilitate the development, and performance of scalable Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning models, the definition and improvement of the Data Science methodologies, building the Data Science Team & Talent network across the Group.
You will report to the Head of Data & Analytics.
You will:
Define and maintain the Data Science vision
Set processes and governance for the centralized Data Science team
Support and review value case definition of opportunities for Data Science
Team, Portfolio, and Resource Management for Data Science
Ensure the right infrastructure and technology stacks to build and deploy efficient models
Oversee end-to-end solution delivery affecting Data Science
Define a vision and a roadmap for the data science team with the company leadership team
Collaborate with other managers to translate Business strategy into an IT strategy
Ensure agreement of projects and roadmap prioritisation across teams
Provide inputs to the Head of D&A and Architects on Market and Technology trends and best practices to give as input to the strategy process

Your professional background includes:
Master's degree in computer science with Data Science or mathematics or statistics specialisation
10+ years working in the Information technology arena.

3+ years in AI/ML environments
Experience in an Agile environment
Deliver machine learning products in a corporate environment

Votre MissionPiloter la vision, l’exécution et l’impact de la data science. Le Lead Data Science est responsable de l’alignement stratégique des initiatives de data science avec les objectifs business, de la qualité des livrables algorithmiques, ainsi que de l’encadrement technique et méthodologique de l’équipe data science. Responsabilités clés (missions)
- Pilotage de la stratégie Data Science
- Co-construire avec le VP Data et les métiers la vision data science de l’entreprise.
- Identifier les cas d’usage à fort impact (machine learning, scoring, NLP, GenAI…) et prioriser les chantiers.
- Traduire les besoins business en projets data science concrets, mesurables et livrables.
- Delivery & excellence technique
- Superviser la conception, le développement et le déploiement des modèles.
- Garantir la qualité scientifique, la robustesse et l’industrialisation des algorithmes.
- Instaurer des bonnes pratiques (reproductibilité, évaluation, documentation, MLOps, etc.).
- Management & mentorat de l’équipe
- Encadrer les data scientists (1:1, plan de montée en compétences, revue de code/expériences).
- Développer une culture d’exigence, d’apprentissage continu et de partage dans l’équipe.
- Participer activement au recrutement de profils data science.

Expérience
- 6 à 10 ans d'expérience dans des environnements data science appliqués (scale-up, fintech, conseil, etc.).
- Expérience avérée dans la livraison de projets ML end-to-end (POC → prod), y compris dans des environnements complexes.
- Première expérience de lead/management d’équipe fortement souhaitée.
Compétences techniques & méthodologiques
- Excellente maîtrise de Python, des bibliothèques ML (scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch, etc.) et des outils de gestion de projet data science.
- Bonne connaissance des pratiques de mise en production de modèles (API, CI/CD, MLOps, monitoring).
- Solides bases en statistiques, en modélisation et en évaluation d’algorithmes.
- Connaissance de l’écosystème data (warehouse, ETL, outils de visualisation, etc.).
Soft Skills
- Leadership technique reconnu, capacité à embarquer une équipe et convaincre les parties prenantes.

What You’ll Work On
- Analyze data from DNA printers & R&D workflows
- Build machine learning & deep learning models
- Design and scale data pipelines
- Define and evolve our company-wide data model
- Help bring our AI strategy to life
- Partner with scientists and engineers to solve real-world problems
Degree (Master or PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
Strong Python skills (Jupyter, Pandas, Flask, Dash, etc.)
Hands-on experience with ML models & data wrangling
Excellent communication — you translate between tech & science with ease
Proactive mindset, eager to learn and collaborate
Bonus: Power BI or BI tools experience
Fluent English required

Ils auront pour vocation de prendre en charge, en synergie avec nos différentes practices, les travaux et missions nécessitant la mise en œuvre de modèles complexes pour accompagner nos clients dans leurs problématiques en lien avec :
- Machine learning et statistiques : élaboration de modèles explicatifs et prédictifs d'aide à la décision (algorithmes d'apprentissage supervisé et non supervisé, économétrie, prévision, diagnostic quantitatif, .)
- Recherche opérationnelle : assistance à la conception et à la mise en oeuvre de solutions d'optimisation sous contraintes et de modèles de simulation
- Big Data : connaissances algorithmiques pour le traitement de grand volume de données et non structurées
Dans le cadre des activités internes du cabinet , votre participation s’articule autour des axes suivants:
- Le développement ou le renforcement de nos offres au travers de formations, de groupes de travail, de diffusion de support internes et externes.
- La politique de publication (blogs sectoriels, études, parution presse.)
- Le développement commercial en contribuant à la définition des besoins et en participant aux actions commerciales.
Vous avez une formation en Ecole d'Ingénieur ou une formation de haut niveau dans le domaine du traitement de l'information, de l'ingénierie statistique et de l'économétrie et vous justifiez d'une première expérience d'au moins un an en Big Data ou Data Science.
Vous avez un excellent niveau en statistiques et analyse quantitative (connaissances théoriques et pratiques, intuition, facilité à comprendre des modèles et les appliquer)
Vous maîtrisezla programmation en R (ou équivalent : SAS, Matlab…) et possédez des bases solides dans des langages de script (Python, Perl, JS, bash) ou compilés (C++, Java) et/ou avez une expérience dans les environnements UNIX/LINUX
Vous souhaitez vous impliquer et prendre rapidement des responsabilités sur des missions à forte valeur ajoutée au sein d’une structure dynamique.
Vous êtes doté(e) d’une capacité à travailler en équipe, d’une ouverture d’esprit, d’un sens de l’analyse et vous souhaitez rejoindre un environnement professionnel motivant où vous partagerez nos valeurs que sont l’excellence, l’entrepreneuriat, l’innovation, la culture du partage, la bienveillance, l’équilibre vie personnelle / vie professionnelle.
