Lead Reserving Actuary (Analytics & Solutions)

Role Overview

This client-facing role focuses on delivering expert-level support and driving modernization of the reserving process for users of a proprietary insurance reserving software platform. The Lead Reserving Actuary will act as a subject matter expert internally and externally—collaborating with clients, product teams, sales, and marketing to ensure the platform delivers maximum value.

The role also involves engaging with executive-level stakeholders at major insurers and contributing to industry thought leadership through webinars, white papers, and related content.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Relationship Management

  • Build strong relationships with clients and partners.
  • Understand client business needs and guide them in leveraging the platform’s reserving solutions.

2. Client Advocacy

  • Work closely with strategic clients to gather feedback that shapes future product developments.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams to prioritize enhancements.

3. Client Satisfaction

  • Identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
  • Monitor client satisfaction to ensure long-term engagement and value realization.

4. Solution Expertise

  • Possess a deep understanding of insurance finance, actuarial calculations, and reserving methodologies.
  • Provide expert support in interpreting outputs and generating reports from reserve analyses.

5. Sales Support

  • Present the platform’s capabilities to C-level executives globally.
  • Communicate the value proposition clearly and effectively during sales engagements.

6. Training & Partner Support

  • Support consulting and technology partners in delivering training and ongoing support to shared clients.

Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in non-life insurance, actuarial departments, or consulting.
  • Strong expertise in insurance reserving processes and tools (e.g., Arius, ResQ).
  • Familiarity with stochastic modeling and machine learning in the context of reserving.
  • Experience presenting to and engaging with C-level executives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel within and outside the region.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional actuarial credentials (e.g., IFoA, DAV, IAE, ISOA, IdA).
  • Proficiency in Visual Basic, VBA, Python, or R.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing client relationships and strategic project delivery.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects involving IT, analysts, and business stakeholders.

Location & Work Environment

The core team is based in Paris, with a preference for candidates who are either based locally or willing to relocate (visa sponsorship available for candidates with EMEA experience). Candidates located in London with the right profile will also be considered.
