The Role
The successful candidate must possess a deep understanding of radio network planning, spectrum management, electronic warfare, and cartographic data management. This role is pivotal in providing support and expertise across critical business areas such as:

• Developing long-term relationships with clients
• Providing consulting services and technical studies including field measurements, radio-planning/coverage studies and reporting.
• Delivering training on the company software solutions covering radio-planning, spectrum management, cartographic data management to customers.
• Conversion of cartographic data for customers.
• Supporting trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.
• Developing requirements specification and product customisations.
• Analysing the technical requirements in pre-sales process (technical responses to RFQ/RFP/Tenders, technical pre-sales negotiation).

The Principal Satellite Telecom and RF Engineer mainly deals with definition, test and verification of advanced ground architectures applicable to User Terminal segment enabling consistent satellite transmissions (mainly GEO then progressively target LEO/GEO).

What You''ll Do

Within the “Ground Antenna and User Terminal” team you will contribute to different sectors of activity

• Responsible for validation of Earth Stations and User Terminals based on the existing procedures, using necessary instruments and reading/postprocessing/analyzing data provided by the reference laboratories or directly recorded withing a local test bench.
• Contribution to specification of satcom services for the User Terminal segment based on outcomes of functional tests (run on UT prototype or pre-series).
• Support to RF characterization and on-field functional tests of User Terminals and their subsystems.
• Define and redact technical specifications and requirements both at system and RF level in the aim of maximizing performance of new generation User Terminals.
• Participate to the procurement of new User Terminals, with technical specifications and requirements (see above), as well as the preparation and evaluation of calls for tenders
• Support for standardization activities and management of Earth Stations/ User Terminals supposed to operate on the Eutelsat Oneweb fleet

The Principal Satellite Telecom and RF Engineer as a key role in carrying out the following activities for the Earth Station and User Terminal validation:

• User Terminal validation:

-Define and organize integration of User Terminal subsystem, setup test bench (possibly in controlled manner)

-Define and roll out a test plan, post-processing and analysis of recorded results

-In more complex setup usage of more advanced tools can be introduced in the test setup (hexapod, drive test, logging tools

What It Takes

• Master degree or equivalent in Telecommunications
• In-depth knowledge of English and French
• >5 years of experience in satellite telecommunication

The skills below are considered a plus:

• Experience with mobile User Terminals relying on OpenAMIP protocol making interaction between Satellite Modem and Antenna possible via Antenna Controller Unit.

• Theoretical and practical knowledge of digital signal processing technics

• Ability to simulate RF systems (waveguides, horn, phased array, etc.), using common tools (Matlab, HFSS, CST)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Satellite Telecom and RF Engineer to join our team, contributing directly to our ongoing projects and initiatives. As Quantum & RF Characterization Engineer and part of the ECCQ (Environment Characterization & Control for Qbit ) team, you will be in charge of selecting, specifying, operating and testing quantum chips & devices which will be used to characterized the quantum environment, and also support the characterization of hardware components.

The goal of the team being to deliver a full working HW solution to other teams focusing on testing qbits, by ensuring that their test environment is stable enough for their experiments.

Study and evaluate the potential areas of improvement around the quantum processor as well as the cryo environment and instrumentation, and propose projects to address these specific problematics.

Industrialize these projects to be part of our product deliveries by increasing the TRL (Technology Readiness Level).

Define your measurement plans; test and operate the quantum chips and other hardware components, with the help of instrumentation and cabling engineers.
